And in the organization of political clubs, Leagues & Secret Societies, and like gatherings , are taught to believe that they will find wealth without labor, Ease without toil & continued prosperity without the possibility of privation or want.

We respectfully submit that the influence that is Exercised by the said Anderson is Exercised for Evil only, & that the tendencies of his teachings are to make under the breach between the two races & alienate the one from the other - Believing that our interests are identified, the one with the other & that any person or persons, white or black, who attempt by counsel or advice to sway the race in opposition & prevent the growth of kindly feeling, are inflicting immediate & [[?]] injury upon the whole community, and having assurances that the said Anderson by inflammatory harangues bad counsel & with evil intent has caused, & is causing bitterness of feeling to spring up between the laborers in the field & their employers that cannot but bring forth bitter fruit in days to come, we respectfully request that you will take such action in the premises as your judgment may support, and if possible relieve us from the (as we believe) cause of present discontent, & we doubt not if suffered to remain, source of future trouble -   We submit in conclusion, that this application is made to you in view of the fact that we are in doubt as to whether there is any section of our Civil or Penal Code, which will afford us prompt and
