My dear Mr. Kinner,

It has been a long time since your last letter. I have meant to answer it before but somehow just didn't.

I haven't been out at the field very much of late, as my regular job takes most of my time. However, I get some news, despite my absense.

Since the race at Worchester, there has been much interest in the little ship. Mr. Bourden is crazy about the flying qualities and would use it all the time if he were confident of the motor. Please tell me how the government tests are getting along---the ones that Mrs. Kinner said were to be run at'Frisco. Even tho the ship itself were O. K., it still, couldn't be used for passenger work here on account of the motors not having had a test run.

Now here is a serious question. What is to prevent anyone's taking the dimensions of the Airster and constructing a ship from them and marketing that ship? Such a thing happened to my knowledge, and I wonder[[strikethrough]]ed[[/strikethrough]] whether you are[[strikethrough]]were[[/strikethrough]] safe in letting our product out here in the East, unless you have a very strong organization to protect it. So many people have tried the little ship and found it so much to their liking, that I am worried lest someone come[[strikethrough]]s[[/strikethrough]] along and run it right thru to completion, with no delays in tests delivery etc., and make a killing. I think the time is ripe for that type of plane right now.

The Siemans motor, as written up in a[[strikethrough]] the[[/strikethrough]] recent Aviation, certainly is rated well. Which Ryan is using Kinners---Ryan himself or Mahoney?

I ahd [[had]] a brain storm not long ago [[arrow mark]] and that of writing to you and asking whether I couldn't come out to the factory and spend next summer in learning the Kinner motor. It seems such a shame that no one here really knows it. If many are to be sold in the East, I think some one should. As things are now, I don't know whether I could get away, however.

Dennison Airport is planning an expansion in the spring which I hope will come to pass. Let me know how you are getting along for I am always interested.

Sincerely yours,
Amelia M Earhart
