General
Hoping you will pardon me for the liberty I take in addressing you at this time. I am in the V.R.C. have been on duty at this place about two years. Hearing that some of the officers of this corp has been assignedo to the Freedmens bureau and being down home at the time some of the friends and yours also, advised me to make aplycation and if successful to write to you and ask you to have me assigned to your state. I wrote to Gen Howard and have received my order I expect to be through here very soon and Gen you would do me a great favor if you would please
