Dear Sir:

I write you a hurried letter by your Act Gen from Thomasville on the 24th inst.  Since my return home I have seen cause to do so again.  Enjoying the privilege of a citizen of the U.S. the past is over with me the issue is settled, as a good Citizen there is but once course left to adapt  ourselves to the present crisis and do all we can to promote the Public good Especially that unfortunate Class the freedmen- whose minds have been abused by U.S. soldiers as to their future prospects also by Mean Low designing white people motives I am a Georgian and were I at my old home in Savannah I would have this accompanied by the recommendations of citizens that I may reach your notice, as it I believe you will give me attention because I have but one Object "humanity" as Capt Richardson can testify who has been at my house by retaining and agreeing at my own expense to support all the decripid[[good guess?]] old and deseased negroes, and Educate and support the children of Prime women who will leave me as all my prime healthy people have left. While in Thomasville I heard Maj. Hastings say to Capt. Richardson it was likely their places would be changed the people in Brooks and Thomas mostdeeply regret it except such who find they cannot manage Capt Richardson he is not a man to be tampered with or
