Augusta Ga December 10th 1865

Sir
I have just received your letters in answer to Promise from Milledgeville concerning the apportionment of the Freedmans Bureau for this county. I am much oblige to you. If I am appointed I shall endeavor to fill the office to the utmost of my ability. I would be glad to see you here soon and give the freedman a speech or talk come if you can and give me a call. I live in three miles of Sandersville North. Any person living in eight or ten miles can give you directions to my place.
Make an appointment and write to me and I will let it be known generally I should of received your letter sooner; but we had just got our mail route reopened,
