I send you a paper with the orders I was requested to publish.

I asked the editor to put in a brief notice that I would explain the objects of the Bureau to the Freedmen and he put in the notice given.

I anticipate more trouble with the mean whites who seek to turn the negro away without cause than I do from the Freedman.

However I will conciliate as much as possible without compromising the honor of the God, & the rights of the Freedmen. I send you a copy of the proceedings in one case brought before me.
