Sir
I will drop you a few lines in regard to matters here. The negroes from Alabama have been in the habit of coming here at my office for advice &c. and have given it them. Knowing however that it was out of your jurisdiction I will state a case A Planter over in Alabama proposed to rent his plantation to his freedman - and his neighbours hearing of it, collected together and condemed the course of the planter and others that offered to hire their freedmen, and in consequence of this the negroes flock in here from over the river in such numbers that things are getting rather troublesome

It appears to be the disposition of the Planters over in Alabama to force off the Negroes and not allow them to work.
Would like your advice on this matter

Very Respectfully
Your Obt Servant
