P.S. The property that I seized claim by Guelin & Co. stands the same as when last reported.

They have agreed to make propposition on next Wednesday which I will forward to you immediately after they decide.

In the case of the Slanard Plantation on which there are seventy-five freedman who are now in a starving condition, cant you furnish transportation for them to Virginia where they can do something. I am doing all in my power to keep them alive. You will recolect the case as I reported the same to you some time ago. The plantation on which they are is entirely stripped of everything and they cannot live on it.

Yours,
P. Slaughter
