To the Hon. the Judge of the Provost Court for the District of Savannah-

The petition of Mrs. M.V. Stiles respectfully sheweth that on the 16th of May 1865, permission was granted her, by M. Benedict Provost Judge, to collect the rents of her property situate in this city.

Your petitioner further sheweth that among said property there is Lot letter "D." west side of Farm street occupied as a public school, and that she has been unable to collect the rents of the same.

Your petitioner is a widow and has been for many years, she is dependent upon the rents of her property for a support, and said Lot "D" is the only piece of property now in condition to make her any valuable return.

Your petitioner has taken the oath of allegiance to the United Sates and prays that your Honor will order a restoration of her property or that due compensation be paid her
