Genl Tillson
Augusta Ga

Sir
I address this to you for the purpose of hearing your ideas upon the following questions.

If you had dismissed a freedman from your service, on account of his behavior, & had been sustained by the Provost Marshal of the county, & said freedmen refused to leave & after being told repeatedly to do so still was found loitering on your place, What coould be your course to pursue?

If parties whom you had had, arrested & who had confessed stealing your property, should be dismissed after having been found guilty

Transcription Notes:
There’s a lot of question marks I put because I couldn’t quite read the word 1. Please don't indent. Do a hard return for paragraph changes. 2. These letters will MAKE SENSE! Augusta , _____. These are letters sent to and from Georgia. Augusta is a big city. That is more likely Ga than "la" 3. The letters are sent to and from military members. Genl and Capt and Lt are common to see in the salutation. Additionally, "SIR" is a way many of these letters are started. 4. This is a duplicate, as I remember transcribing it earlier this morning, but I can't find the dupe.
