Dear Sir

I received your telegram this evening notifying me of the acceptance of my officer - authorizing me to make arrangements accordingly & stating that you will complete the transfer when you visit Albany a few days hence.

I was very glad to hear from you as my machinery is on the way from New York via Apalachiacola Fla. & I hope will be here by the last of this month.  

On Sunday morning I will deposit the money ($4,000) with your agent here, Major Hastings, subject to your order and take possession of the property and adapt it as rapidly as possible to the uses for which I have purchased it.

I shall be gratified to see you here & I request, if agreeable to yourself, that you come directly to my house and make it your home while you remain here.

In a conversation with Major Hastings today he told me that there was a probability that he could soon be mustered out of service & would be superceded by another.  He seems so well adapted to his present position & duties that I think it would be a misfortune to the county to loose his services.  Coue you not continue him here as your agent even after he is mustered out of the service?  I gave Major Hastings today a copy of a paper
