Sir:

Julia Shivers & Mary Virginia Shivers Freedwomen residing near Warrenton Georgia are daughters of Rosa a Freedwoman of this (Carroll) County. Julia has one child.

Rosa is very anxious to have her daughters with her and respectfully requests that you furnish them Transportation, and such papers as will obtain Transportation for them to this Station.

They were separated from her by reason of Slavery some years since, and now she wishes to have them with her.

She has the reputation of being a very fine and respectable woman.

Very Respectfully (Your Obt Servant)
J.D. Patterson Lt and
Sub Commissioner Freedmens Bureau

Transcription Notes:
I can't figure out the city... there's no HEWOWA in Miss, but the only other thing I can find it could be is WINONA, but the second letter is pretty clearly an "E".
