Athens Ga Nov 15 the 1865

Honoured & Dear sir

I avail myself with the liberty of writing you a few lines hopeing that you have arrived in good health  my business this morning sir is to make some inquiery in relation to certain things  there been several heads of famielys applied to me knowing that I have some knowledge of the American Colonization society in times past to know of me whether goverment will send free persons of colour now to Africa as before  if so they are willing to go. this question I could not answer without refering to you  I answered them that I would write to you for I did not know how things were at the present but I would inquire of you whether it would be done or not  as it may be a matter of general inquiery I should like to know from you sir what instruction can I give on the subject  be pleas to let me hear from you in regard to this & all other subject that I may address the people upon  I have an invatation to go over to Jackson
