I have been to see Major Hastings, since I got home & find him all that I could expect of a man in his ocupation.  I think tis likely I will be able to get up as many labourers here as I need however should I fail in my efforts, I will notify you forthwith & get you to have them, sent on to me, General, do will you send on to Charles Wilcox of Savannah, Ga. your circular no. 3, & now.  General, I want to make a proposition to you it is this I will take
