Dear Mr. Howard:

Rumors on our Eastern seaboard are that Texas is enjoying a "war boom" and I do hope that, if true, your museum is benefitting by it and that your purchase funds have increased correspondingly.

We have recently acquired paintings of various schools and periods, such as a most delightful and colorful small PELLIGRINI, which - due to the circumstances under which we purchased it - we can sell for $1100.; a Self-portrait by BETTONI, also very brilliant in color, the price of which is $1200.; a superb painting by DELACROIX - unfortunately much higher in figures, etc.

Would Gothic sculpture perhaps interest you? The Brooklyn Museum has been kind enough to extend the hospitality of their galleries to several for which we had no room in our new premises.

I am writing you about the above as if I recall correctly, our previous talks had been mainly about the MACKAY armor, of which by the way we still have a few suits, and so that you will realise we have a much wider scope of activity.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Yours very sincerely,

(Germain Seligmann)
