Dear Lloyd:

Your good letter addressed to Mr. O'Toole has just been handed to me by Mr.Seligmann, who took the liberty of opening it due to its official nature.

I must tell you at the outset that Mr.O'Toole is no longer connected with this firm, but I shall be pleased to carry on our amicable business relations of long standing.

Regarding your inquiry about the loan of a painting or paintings by Stuart Edie and others, you know it has always been our policy to co-operate with the various museums to the best of our ability, and any assistance that we can give in additional to the loan of paintings we shall be only too glad to extend. Inasmuch as this phase of our activities is organized under the Department of Contemporary American Art, I am referring your letter to Mrs. Parker who is in complete charge of this Department, and who will communicate with you within a few days.

On the other hand, if there is anything I can do for you, or if you are planning any exhibitions in the European fields, do not fail to call on me.

I personally was always sorry in a way that you had left San Francisco, as I knew of the good work you had been doing out there, and the tremendous job you had on your hands. However, perhaps this new step of yours is fortunate, as I do believe you with your background and experience, have a wonderful chance to build up a really important art center in Dallas - so please accept my belated congratulations on your new appointment, and if you do get to New York please do not fail to come in and say "Hello".

With best wishes,
As always,
Yours sincerely,
(Robert M. Levy)
