Dr. W. R. Valentiner
Detroit Institute of Art
Detroit, Mich.

Dear Dr. Valentiner:

I received your telegram for which I thank you, and I telephoned to Arnold Seligmann & Co., who handed the bronze to us without any difficulty, so that I hope it did not give you any worry.

You must still have in Detroit the two photographs, one of which represents the first page of the catalogue of the Kaiserin Friederich's collection, and the other, the page of that same catalogue on which the bronze was reproduced. You will oblige me greatly in seeing that they are returned to us.

As I am sending back a number of our tapestries to Paris, you will also oblige me in returning us the tapestries which you have in Detroit. I do not mean by this that you should return these to us only in the event of your not having somebody interested in them, but should you like to display them in the Museum for any reason or other, I should of course be very pleased to have you keep them a little longer.

I thank you very much for your letter of April 8th about the Francis Ist portrait, but you never told me if you have received the letter which I wrote you by hand on March 27 or 28.

Hoping these few lines will find you in good health, and with my best regards,

Pray believe me,

Yours sincerely,
