Dr. W.R. Valentiner

Detroit, Mich.

My dear Dr. Valentiner:

Just a line to remind you that you had promised to let me have a certificate for our little Mabuse picture and also for the picture by Ravesteiyn.

I hope you have received the carved ivory Polyptych as well as the tapestries.

Would you be good enough to send me back the small ivory polyptych which you had previously, if you do not want it anymore.

I think you will be delighted to hear that Mr. George Booth has bought from us that marvelous thirteenth century wooden Statue of St. Paul which comes from the Stoclet collection and which you liked so much. He also purchased a Renaissance carving which is very good and which you have also seen.

I saw Mr. Kobler yesterday and he told me that he had returned his Rembrandt because he had discovered that it was a fake. I told him that you had suspected this fact and it impressed him very much, as Kleinberg had seen this picture and offered him a profit on it.

Have you heard from Mrs. Valentiner?

I hope these few lines will find you in good health, and with my best regards, believe me

Yours very sincerely,
