Dr. W. R. Valentiner,
Detroit Institute of Arts,
Detroit, Mich.

My dear Dr. Valetiner,

I just spoke to Mr. Blumenthal and we are sending you the two ivory plaques which you selected, and also a very fine eleventh century plaque which is in the binding of a book and which he considers more interesting than the casket.

As I wired you today, he wishes these three articles insured byyou for the value of $35,000.

I am very sorry not to have had the pleasure of seeing you when you were in New York recently, and hoping in the near future I shall have the pleasure to see you again, and with my best regards to Mrs. Valentiner, kindly believe me

Yours very truly,
