Mr. Germain Seligmann,
3 East 51st Street,
New York City.

Dear Mr. Seligmann,

I do not know whether you are back from Paris, but I am addressing the letter to you hoping that if you are not there Mr. Trevor will communicate with you regarding the contents.

We shall have an exhibition of the French Gothic Art from the thirteenth to the fifteenth centuries, to be held here for three weeks beginning on the ninth of November. Mr. Tannahill has already spoken to you regarding this matter, and I hope you will be so kind as to let us have a few important objects. I should like to exhibit the gilt reliquary of which I have the photograph, and if possible a few pieces of ivory, especially the one of which you speak, an ivory diptych which you wrote you would ship from Paris.

Perhaps it would not be necessary to ship the stone Virgin, since it is a difficult object to transport; but I would like to get the other objects, and possibly also a few more enamels and if you have any tapestries of the fifteenth century.

If you could let me know if I could have these objects, and besides send me some photographs (I already have one of the reliquary) so that I could include them in the catalogue, it would be very nice. We would like to have the things here around the first of November, so as to be able to arrange the exhibition well.

Looking forward to seeing you in New York, I am

Yours very sincerely,W. R. Valentiner
