Mr. Germain Seligmann,
57 Rue Saint Dominique,
Paris.

Dear Mr. Seligmann:

When I received your wire regarding the Cellini I must say that I was exceedingly sorry that it went out of our hands. I am sure that it would have made a great effect in this country if we had acquired this wonderful bronze statuette. However, it was my own fault, and I regretted afterwards that I did not take the statuette with me right then in the evening when you so kindly offered to let me take it with me in my bag.

If you will let me have a good photograph of the figure I would be glad to write an article on it for Art in America.

This reminds me that Mr. Sherman, the Publisher of Art in America, is very unhappy because he has not had for this year for his magazine the help which you have given so kindly for previous years. However, I do not want to influence you in any way, as this matter is more one for the publisher than mine.

With kind regards,

Very sincerely yours,
W. R. Valentiner
