March 14th, 1935.

Dear Dr. Valentiner:

Many thanks for your letter of March 11th.

I saw Mr. Wildenstein yesterday and he said that he would gladly include both our Fragonard portraits in his exhibition. I also told him that before his departure, Mr. Jonas left with me the Fragonard which you had seen in Detroit, and which you also wanted to show.

Mr. Wildenstein does not seem to be quite sure, however, whether he is going to show only Hubert Robert, or both Hubert Robert and Fragonard. I expect to hear from him when the time comes.

In any case, should this show take place, we will be glad to loan you both our pictures.

We have just received from Paris a very fine Degas, which is one of the twelve important Race Course subjects. Will you tell Mr. Tannahill, so that if he comes to New York I can have a chance to show it to him.

Hoping to see you both here soon again, and with my kindest regards to Mr. Richardson, Mr. Tannahill, and yourself, kindly believe me

Yours sincerely,

(Rene Seligmann)
