Mr. Valentiner,
Corneliastrasse No.1,
BERLIN.

Dear Mr. Valentiner,

Mr. Germain Seligmann, c/o Jacques Seligmann & Fils, 9 rue de la Paix, Paris, was looking at two small Rembrandts belonging to me on Tuesday last, and he advised me strongly to get in touch with you about these. He could not, however, give me your address, as he said you had left Detroit Museum, but seeing it was Detroit, I knew I should have no difficulty in getting your address, so I cabled my friend, Mr. Henry Ford, asking him if he could cable it to me, which he did in a couple of hours after.

Regarding these two small Rembrandts, I have been wondering if you could see your way to come across here to the Savoy Hotel to see me and have a look at them. I sincerely trust you will go far out of your way to oblige me by doing this. Of course, I will pay you a fee as well as your expenses if you will kindly cable me what your fee and expenses would amount to. As you know my friends, I hope you will make a big effort to come over here, and at once.

You will receive this letter tomorrow (Friday) morning, by first post, so if you would cable me on receipt of this letter, stating you could come here on Saturday or Sunday next (11th or 12th inst.) I should be more than obliged to you.

Yours faithfully,
Gardner Sinclair
