My dear Mr. Seligmann:
I am sorry that I had to trouble you about the Cuyp.
there are so many followers of Van Goyen who painted like Cuyp in his early period, that I wanted to see the picture again to make sure of it, although I may have said Cuyp when I saw it.
After seeing it again, I am quite sure it is a characteristic early work by Cuyp. I am enclosing the photograph with statement. The painting will be returned tomorrow.
With kind regards,
Sincerely yours,
W.R. Valentiner
