Dear Bob:
Many thanks for your letter which I found here today on my return from Palm Beach. I am glad to know about the two collections of the graphic work of Odilon Redon and of Fantin-Latour, but I am sorry the say that I do not think that the Museum could acquire them at the present time. On the other hand, when next I see you, I would like to hear more about each of these items.
I had a glorious fortnight in Palm Beach staying with the Hugh Dillman's at their magnificent house. The weather was perfection the whole time I was there, so that I succeeded in getting a fine tan, and the air and exercise that I needed badly. I adored Palm Beach as a place - there were many people I know and we dined outside almost every evening. I feel a hundred percent better than I did when I left, but it is horrible to return to this cold again.
I don't believe that I will get to New York next week as I had planned. I hope you'll all speed Jack on his way with a lot of éclat. I have to be here for the opening of the Rubens Show on Wednesday and the Bliss Collection at the Arts and Crafts later in the week.
Many thanks again for writing me about the prints.
As ever,
Sincerely,
Jack
