April 25, 1958

My dear Mr. Grigaut:

Mr. Germain Seligman received your most interesting letter of April 23 when he was just about to leave for the Airport en route for Europe. However, he was able in the taxi to express his views which I am glad to convey to you.

First he wished me to express his congratulations on the splendid plan you have for this important exhibition.

You ask how to contact the Liechtenstein Gallery. It is his opinion that you should communicate with Dr. Gustav Wilhelm, the Director at the Liechtenstein Castle in Veduz, Principality of Liechtenstein via Zurich. In this connection, he wishes to remind you that the most important marble sculptures from the collection were purchased by him and acquired by the S.H. Kress Foundation and are now at the National Gallery in Washington; either on loan or as an outrights gift. These were published by Mr. Seligaman with the help of Dr. W.R. Valentiner in a special catalogue: "Sculptures from the Collection of H.H. the Prince of Liechtenstein", which you must probably have of copy. He feels that these, or at least some of them, among the most precious in the country should figure in your exhibition.

In this connection he also wants you to know that this firm has at present some very exceptional works of art of the Italian Renaissance, among them the famous Lombardi bas-relief with two angels which you know well as it had been considered for purchase by Mr. Richardson. We also have Italian Majolicas and Bronses. It might be well as regards these to communicate with Mr. Seligman who expects to be back here by June 20th for about ten days.

Trusting the above will be of help to you,
Yours very sincerely,

Mrs. T.D. Parker
