Dear Mr. Richardson:

Do have my thanks for your letter of September 8th, just received. I can well understand your disappointment at not being able to acquire my great Lombardi tabernacle, knowing how you have felt right along about its importance and beauty.

In view of this situation, may I ask you to return it, and could I recommend that it be very carefully packed, as, after all, it would be indeed a great pity were it to be damaged, for no insurance money could compensate for such a blemish.

With personal regards,
Sincerely yours,

Germain Seligman
