December 27th., 1956.
Dear Dr. Jones:
We-and especially I who had the privilege of seeing your extraordinary achievements - are not only pleased, but proud that our Vannuccie "Grucifix" will henceforth be in your exquisite museum. I hope that after it is hung you will tell me in which of the rooms it is displayed?
We phoned our packers yesterday to begin preparations for shipment, and this morning it was called for, so that by nightfall it will be delivered to Railway Express and commence the journey to Greenville.
And I hope it will please you to know that we plan to hang a photograph of it with the photos you will remember having seen in our hallway of great works of art which have gone into famous collections.
Meanwhile I am looking forward to the arrival of "Wine of Morning", which I hope will boar an inscription by the author! and perhaps the future will be so kind as to let me see the movie based on it.
The parchment-like appearance of the enclosed invoice might call for some explanation...just so you will not think it part of an early manuscript. All our invoices undergo a process which withers them and has this unhappy result. Nevertheless I think it is in accordance with your letter of the 24th.
Wishing you great happiness in 1957,
Sincerely,
Mrs. Theresa D. Parker
