New York, N.Y. 10022 March 8th, 1973 Dear Mr. Avery; An announcement from the Metropolitan Museum imparts that you will deliver several lectures on May 13th and 15th. Mrs. Seligman and I are most desirous to attend them, however, I am afraid that this will be rather difficulty to achieve, for it is the date we have set for our departure to Europe. But even more disappointing would be to miss seeing you here altogether. May I therefore express the hope that you will arrive in our city a few days earlier so that we may have the pleasure of your company at our home, while you are a guest of New York. I realize that it is still quite early to make plans for the month of May, but I do hope that we will be able to work out something which will give us the enjoyment of your visit here. Trusting these lines will find you in good health and looking forward to hearing from you, With all good wishes, Sincerely yours, Germain Seligman Charles H.F. Avery, Esq.
