October 14, 1970

Dear Mr. Cecil;

How very good of you to have written me at such length and let me thank you most heartily for your very nice lines of October 8th. I have enjoyed much the paper you published on the Fourth Marquess of Hertford, who as you write so pointedly, was really the true founder of the Wallace Collection.

I was not aware of the shooting pictures by Decaen and should I admit it, was even ignorant of his name. We learn every day.

With reviewed appreciation of your kind thought of me and with warm regards,

Sincerely yours,

Germain Seligman
