THE WALLACE COLLECTION
MANCHESTER SQUARE
LONDON, W.1.

14th October 1965

Dear Mr. Seligman,
Thank you very much for your letter of 23rd Septembder, which I should have answered sooner but I was waiting for the Director to return from his holiday and show it to him.

I am interested in what you say about the Houdon bust, and also about the XIXth century sculpture which was in the rue Laffitte and then was placed by your father in the gardens of the Palais de Sagan. This would probably account for a number of the items in the inventory, but I do not suppose it was important enough for you to have records as to where it is now.

With regard to your taking a copy of the inventory itself, we had a complete microfilm made of it at the time you gave it to us, and it occurred to me that it might be better to have prints taken from this and sent to you rather than send the inventory itself across the Atlantic and back. Perhaps you would let me know what you feel about this, as we would be delighted to let you have prints from our negative if you would like them.

Yours sincerely,
Robert A Cecil
