Dear Mr. Watson,

Do be good enough to excuse this belated note to thank you for your so very interesting letter giving me the details of the item from the Wallace-Bagatelle Collection in Mr. and Mrs. Wrightman's home.

It was good of you to have so promptly answered our request and I do hope that this additional information will be incorporated in my book. I have no assurance yet on this subject as vacation time has offset to some extent the publishing schedule. According to the one set a few months ao, the book should come out towards the end of October - but without wishing to be a pessimist, I doubt it.

I have just heard of several of your colleagues coming over to attend the International Congress of the History of Art and, if, as I hope, you also have this intention, I may have the pleasure of seeing you here before these lines reach you.

With reiterated appreciation of your courtesy and, with personal regards to Mrs. Watson and to you in which Mrs. Seligman joins me, I remain

Sincerely yours,

Germain Seligman
