Dear Mr. Cecil:

Your very good lines of February 12th were acknowledged by my office, for they arrived as I was just about to leave for several weeks. I hope you will therefore excuse this belated note.

Indeed, I am pleases to know of your success in connection with your research as regards the Wallace tapestries and allow me to congratulate you. If in some very modest way, I have been of help and you so kindly write, it makes me feel very happy.

It is strange that you should not have heard from Mrs. Hawkins in answer to your letter of November last but some people, particularly society women, are negligent of such obligations. However, you still have another string to your bow in writing to Mrs. Mackay. This last step if successful, as I hope, will be crowning your efforts.

I am looking forward to reading your next article in the Burlington Magazine with all its promised data.

With best personal regards,

Sincerely yours,

Germain Seligman
