MANCHESTER SQUARE
LONDON, W.1

10th September 1956

Dear Mr. Seligman,
Thank you very much indeed for your letters of 5th September, and for the addresses of Mrs. Hawkins and Mrs. Mackay. The information that the Don Quichotte tapestries now belong to Mrs. Hawkins reached me after your original letter, though Mr. Fowles of Duveen Brothers, who wrote to Mr. Nicolson of the Burlington Magazine. He states definitely that these tapestries were bought by the late Mr. Mackay, and are now the property of his daughter.

In the circumstances I think it would be best if I write to Mrs. Hawkins first.

I am very glad to have had the information about these pieces, and am, as always, grateful to you and Mrs. Seligman for your help.

Yours very sincerely,
Robert Cecil
