Dear Mr. Cecil:

In the course of further work for my book I have come across information which calls for corrections and/or additions to the Wallace inventory which I thought you would like to have for your copy.

Le Repas, Beauvais tapestry after designs by Le Prince. I now find that this tapestry was sold in America and not to Alfred Lowenstein. I am hoping to have more definite information on its present whereabouts and will certainly let you know if I locate it.

Portrait of Louis XI, This painting is mentioned in the Conoisseur article of August, 1910, but since it does not appear on the Paris inventory made for Scott and I, myself, had absolutely no recollection of it, I assumed that it was not included in the purchase of my father. However, quite by chance I came across the enclosed clipping taken from Connoisseur of May, 1914, which would seem to indicate that the painting was still in the Paris collection after the sale. We have tried to find some later reference to such a painting, but without success so far. Does it by chance mean anything to you?

Lois XVI black furniture, I am wondering whether some of the pieces of this type (similar to those in Chantilly) did not go to Sir Philip Sassoon. Would you have any information about this or would you care to try to check it? These were, of course, sold from Paris and our records no longer exist.

Trusting you will find these notes of interest and with kindest personal regards, I am
Sincerely yours,
(Germain Seligman)
