Dear Mr. Cecil:

Your interesting letter of April 16, to which is appended a letter from Professor Reau to Mr. F.J.B. Watson, duly reached me.

You know how happy I always am to be of help, but I am afraid that this time I am unable to throw any light on the problem of the group "Education de l'Amour", by Pigalle.

I have no recollection of having ever seen this sculpture, and which by its size, without mentioning its aesthetic merit, should have left some trace on my memory.

Reading over Professor Reau's letter I find that he mentions the date of 1904 as being the one at which Sir John Murray Scott would have sold this group.

This only group by Pigalle of similar proportions which I recall is "L'Amour qui Embrasse l'Amitie" from the Chateau de Bets, which my father owned and sold in the U.S.

I regret much not to be able to give you a more satisfactory answer.

With personal regards,

Sincerely yours,

Germain Seligman
