29 October 1953

Dear Germain:

Thank you very much for your letter of October 26.

I have checked on your order for the photograph of our painting by Poussin and find that it was mailed this date, the delay having been caused by the necessity for making some new prints.

Although I have long considered the painting as probably by Bourdon, a number of reliable scholars have recently told me that they believe it is by Poussin. Consequently, we are calling it Poussin until we can verify anything further.

Very sincerely,
Dick
