RUSSEL A. PLIMPTON, DIRECTOR

January 9, 1953

Dear Germain:

I am writing once again to thank you for the loan of your firm's Tocque and your own Winterhalter to our recent exhibition, GREAT PORTRAITS BY FAMOUS PAINTERS.

Both paintings attracted considerable attention in the exhibition, partly because they are by masters whose works are not frequently seen and partly because of their intrinsic merit.

I believe that you are to be congratulated on such rare taste. And we, in turn, are deeply grateful.

We have returned the paintings to Budworth for delivery to you. I believe that you should have them by now.

I would appreciate your returning the frame, used on the Tocque, to Lowy, billing us for any charges in connection with deliveries thereof.

With best regards,

Sincerely,
Dick
