Dear Russell:
I turned over to you yesterday the photographs of
#7914 by La Neuville, Jean Louis "Portrait du Conventionnel
Ruamps de Surgeres, depute de la Charante Inferieure"
$6,000.- (Six thousand dollars)

as well as the photograph of #7904 La Hyre, Laurent de "Faith" painting $8,000.- (Eight Thousand dollars).

You asked me to forward to you additional data concerning these two painting and which you will find herein.
As regards the portrait by La Neuville you will find on a separate sheet a summary of the data and bibliography as well as a photostat of the very important exhibition "David et ses Eleves", 1913 at the Palais des Beaux-Arts, Paris. You will notice that it was exhibited side by side with two other portraits - one of them in the Musee de Versailles and the other representing another "Conventionnel" - "Herault de Sechelles".

For the La Hyre you will also find appended a separate page of bibliography as well as photostats of the two paintings which as I explained to you were recently purchased by the Baltimore Museum and by the Metropolitan, and also one of the paintings by the same artist at the Louvre. The link you will see between "Faith", my painting, and the three others, is quite striking.
Should you wish any further information I would be only too pleased to forward it to you.
Looking forward to hearing from you and with best personal regards,

Yours very sincerely,
(Germain Seligman)
