Dear Germain:

Many thanks for your letter of April 3.

I completely understand about your reluctance to ship the large Maillol drawing. However, I am almost certain that I would like to buy it.

Therefore, I would appreciate your reserving it until Phyllis has had a chance to see it, which will be around April 20, when we plan to fly to New York for a very few days.

At that time I would like to discuss the Delacroix watercolor with you. Simply personally, not in connection with our exhibition, scheduled for the period of May 1 through June 15. However, if you can lend it to the museum, it would give me a better chance to study it.

When you mail the photograph of the small Delacroix watercolor, I hope that you can add a photograph of the Tiepolo which you showed me.

I will write you about the Rodin from the Institute. I hope Russell will look at it and pursue the matter. He plans to be in New York about the end of the month.

Sincerely,
Dick
