Dear Germain;

It was good to see you in New York and interesting to see your various new drawings and watercolors.

The Delacroix reached me in good time and condition. Phyllis and I studied it and decided that we would prefer to wait for something else since we already have a Delacroix of superb quality. However, it is a very impressive drawing and a good buy for somebody who likes scale, etc.

The truth is that we would like to investigate the possibility of purchasing your terrific watercolor of Arab musicians.

In the meantime, I have asked Mrs. Parker if it is possible to send me the large Maillol drawing on approval since I think it is something which would be stunning in our new house.

I have told Russell about the Rodin, but will write you regarding that from the Institute since this is a letter devoted to personal matters.

Sincerely, as always,
Dick
