M. Germain Seligman,
5, East 57th Street,
New York 22, N.Y.,
U.S.A.

Dear Monsieur Seligman:

I fear this is a very belated answer to your letter of September 10, addressed to Mr. Morgan. He is still staying in the country, and I am replying on his behalf.

Since you wrote, I understand that Miss Shoolman and my colleague Mr. Cleghorn called on you in New York, and explained the situation about the Ingres and Seurat drawings. I expect to be in New York myself on Friday, October 2nd, and will give myself the pleasure of calling upon you. I would at the same time collect the Gauguin drawing which you are so kindly lending us, and which I understand will be insured by you.

Sincerely yours,

John Steegman
