Ga, Feby 5th 1866 To Gen Tillson Capt of Freedmens Bureau Dear Sir, Enclosed I send you a coppy of a contract between Mr. Howard & sum Freedman that he said I have since hired. I wish to make a statement of the facts as I understand them & if it is not taking your time to much I wish you to wright to me & let me know wither I have done eny thing contrary to the orders you have issued or not, as he is trying to give me som trobble over the hands I was at Fort Valley Ga. on the 22 of Jun 1866 for the purpos of Hiring 30 hands to put on a place I had rented in this county & that was 8 men come up to where I was & wanted to make a contract for themselves & family 16 working hands I asked them how it was They [[?]] [[?]] befor them They told me they had made arangement with ther former master Mr Howard to tend His farm & he had fald to do what he
