[[stamp]] THE NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF THE UNITED STATES [[/stamp]] States that his little boy owed a freedman 25 cts and that the freedman demanded it, where upon the boy said he did not have the Change but would pay it when he did have it. the freedman then began swearing at him and the boy picked up a stone told the freedman he would throw it at at him if he gave him impudence for this the agent fined the boy $5 and threatens to imprison him if it is not paid Mch 7 Recd OAAC Mch 7 1866 Bureau RF&AL Office Asst Commr Augusta Ga Mch 8/66 Respectfully referred to J. Clark Swayze Agt BRF&AL for Spalding Co for report of facts in the case. This paper to be returned with report By Command of Brig Genl Tillson W.W. Deane Capt & AAG E&M 123 Answered Mch 14th 1866 [[strikethrough]] Answer Lochart that the fine [[/strikethrough]] investigation shows the offence committed by your [[strikethrough]] his [[/strikethrough]] son to have been an agravated one & the fine very small.
