Gen'l Stitson

Sir
Permit me to address you in relation to a case now Pending between my little Son and the Agt of the Freedmans Bureau of this Place which circumstances are this, it appears my Son was due a Freedman Twenty five cts. the Boy called on my Son and demand his pay. Son saying to him he had no change and when he got it would pay him the Freedman began to swear with threats of reporting, which induce my Son to take up a rock and say to him if you give me your impudence I will knock you down. This Man Suasy pronounced a fine of five dollars or arrest. The case in my judgement too insignificant to notice. I have refused paying the fine and the arrest McSuasy appears to be determined to arrest or collect the Ten Dollars and the latter I think the greatest consideration. I write you Fraternally will you be so good as to advise me in the case It is not the amount so much I Demur at but the principal

Yours Very Respectfully
