Marietta, Mar 8.1866

Col. Poole

It becomes a matter of absolute necessity that I should call on you once more for another supply of rations. When I made my last request of you, I told you that I thought we could get along without any further aid from you. But we are out and the county has not yet made its arrangements about furnishing provisions under the late act of the Legislation. But will be in course of two or three weeks.

But until this is done, we must provide otherwise & I can see no other way but to call on you. The cases of small pox among the colored persons has largely increased since I saw you.

We are, indeed, thankful to you for the aid you have already given us. And will receive our lasting gratitude if you can possibly help us once more.

Very Respfly
