1. Origins of One Ring circus 
Skills that make up circus; 18th century form of circus that brought talents together. England—riding school outside of London—trick riding. People showed up to see riding tricks rather than school so started showing off and brought other [[strikethrough]] people [[/strikethrough]] type of [[strikethrough]] pro [[/strikethrough]] performers. Introduced a circus ring to help John Bull Richek to US in 1790s. Differences between Europe & US. Europe stay in place. US-more traveling 

Origins of American Circus: Shift from performers to marketers of circus. P T Barnum [[strikethrough] m [[/strikethrough]] most popular in 1870s. Dan Castello & William Cameron Coup wanted to use his name to bring people in. Barnum Coup also brought circus on train - new concept. Method of bringing circus to deste more people + led to bigger tents, so began with more rings so people would see what going on
Baily - circus w/ baby elephant. Partnership built w/ Barnum & Bailey on East Coast
