When in "mainland" (note: not continental US), the songs & music  do back home have no gender.

To Hina: What more can Hawaii offer to other cultures regarding the LgBTQ? 
Hina: Hawaiins once divided work by culture, religion, sex. 
However, genders could not overstep each other. Now, gender & responsibilities are no longer associated. Much respect comes to the "mahu," (transgender) they fill the gaps.
