(1) "Bar" = means dance
(2) Huleh(sp?) (pronaounced HUH-leh) version learned @ ← Harperts (western Armenian American picnics); It is related to dance called Kochari(sp?) that Armenian dancers did last week
[] comes from region/city called Harpert in western/traditional armenia []

9/8/rhythm
Each village had a different Tamara (3)(sp?) dance; this version was made up @ Camp Hayastan(sp?) an armenian american summer camp in Massachusetts. Dance competition yielded 1st prize for this version, which has influences of RI contra dance.
Armenians like to be very close when they dance

(4) The shuffle - 10/8 rhythm unique to western armenia has its roots in traditional folk dance; may have been made up in 1950s Detroit.
Kessaptsi
(5) Dance from Kessat(sp?), border of Syria & turkey; "40 days of Musadagh" story came from this region.
Most Arm dances travel to the right - this one too but starts with left foot
