Proud of tonir making -His grandfather came from Bitles (sp?) in - ottoman Turkey, forced to leave in 1915 genocide. learned from his grandfather. Bread is most precious thing in Armenia, so w/ out him, no bread. Now teaching his son tonir making tradition

Moral 
Shohme'= From (sp?) gililia village now in Turkey. grandparents moved to Aleppo after 1s genocide. took all knowledge & craft traditional. Lost most family members. Due to war in Syria, she moved to Eastern Armenia. Made sure to pack her grandparents's embroidery as the 1st item

Came from Hisinig. Harpert, Anatolya (now Turkey); fortunate to escape genocide but parents & siblings died, sister escaped a harem w/ help of American missionaries Father Mothers side from Sepasya.

& sister. Killed,

Mothers dad came late 1800s during Heermedian (sp?) massace

Dance traditions kept alive through Armenian American community picnics, each learned the others dances & traditions in the US that they would not have known otherwise.
